When my mother-in-law moved into assisted... living, I was dreading the process of having to begin working with her long term care insurance carrier again to try to recover the benefits she is entitled to. I have owned a wealth management business for 17... years and had a client in his 80s who was having an issue getting his disability company to pay for in home care. I sold long term policies a number of years ago and knew that almost all policies at that time paid for in home care (as opposed to nursing home care). Family Solutions knew exactly what to do. Family Solutions for Care saved our LTCI claim.... We had attempted to go it alone and file a claim for my mother’s policy. We had so thoroughly botched the process, that not only was our claim on the verge of being rejected, but I was concerned that they may cancel our plan outright.Finding FSC was a blessing. We were incredibly frustrated by our LTC... company. On the face of it, their policy promised to pay out for a dementia diagnosis OR inability to perform some activities of daily living (ADL). Believe me, people with dementia become severely impaired mentally long before they can't pull on their clothes. We hired an attorney who, not realizing the policy was misleading, encouraged us to apply for the long-term care that was paid for over a 25-year period that entailed escalating charges. They promptly denied our claim, to our shock.We appealed to the insurance commissioner of the issuing issuing state. No help-- but they did use our case as a data point!Then we heard from a class-action attorney about FSC. We were nervous to commit, but it ended by taking off an enormous burden. FSC will work with your LTC provider, they definitely know the right way to fill out forms and ping them at the right time to pay out each month.FSC turned a nightmare intro a process that, albeit long, ended with the LTC company eventually paying for the long-overdue care.
